Social Program

A Socially Active Community

Residents plan their day to the fullest by selecting from a wide array of activities and enjoying entertaining and educational events. Our Social Program, developed with resident input, offers many opportunities for residents to spend time with each other, pursue individual interests, and host their families and friends at our special gatherings.

A variety of programs address all of the needs that every person has -- social, physical, spiritual and intellectual. Our activities are not developed to keep people busy - they are designed to nurture and inspire. How residents decide to spend their days is always a personal individual choice, respected by our staff.

Here are a few examples of the many activities you'll find in our community.

  • Musical entertainment
  • Shopping, dining & sightseeing excursions
  • Intergenerational programs with local schools & scout troops
  • Daily exercise classes & walking club
  • Spiritual discussion group & opportunities for worship
  • Social gatherings, parties & seasonal events
  • Resident men's & women's clubs
  • Educational programs & current event group discussions
  • Painting, cooking & computer classes
  • Gardening
  • Cinema feature, bridge, bingo, poker, games & trivia

Reconnections

Research shows that individuals with Alzheimer's disease still have the ability to learn. Our experiential-based learning curriculum is based on that knowledge, and provides opportunities for our residents to reconnect with past experiences and be reminded of the "joy of learning" as they engage with their peers. Topics are presented in a way that allows residents in all stages of the disease process to be inspired to learn. A new theme is introduced each week - topics include Italy, chocolate, American artists, baseball, our Founding Fathers, and many more!
