A Not-For-Profit Tradition of Caring Since 1899

The Cambridge Homes has a rich tradition of service to the Cambridge community. The not-for-profit organization was established by a group of Cambridge citizens (including Alice Longfellow, the poet's daughter) over 100 years ago. The Cambridge Homes' charitable mission continues to be carried out today by an active nine-member Board of Directors and 50 Incorporators, all from the Cambridge, MA community.

Volunteers from the Cambridge area serve on the Friends' Committee sponsoring a variety of in-house programs and acting as medical escorts for residents, driving them to and providing companionship during physician visits.

The Cambridge Homes' Board of Directors is committed to using a portion of its endowment fund for financial scholarships to help defray costs for Cambridge residents with limited means.
